Nelson baristas did well at Sunday ’s regional barista championships held in Christchurch, but none were unable to secure a place in the national finals, scheduled to take place later this month. He narrowly beat Nelson ’s Guy McCracken from The Coffee Factory.
Nelson barista Emma Markland-Webster, who was a technical judge, said 19 people took part in Sunday ’s competition, which required entrants to make four espressos, four cappuccinos and four signature coffees in 15 minutes.
